Dante clutched his stomach and headed for the restroom, giving the white ball a harsh scolding once they were inside.
"Psh! You cursed ball, making me choose such a tall body. It’s terrible! I look nothing like the others!" He reached out to grab the ball, but it quickly scurried behind him.
"You chose it yourself! You can't blame me for that."
Slap! The white ball was unexpectedly swatted by Dante’s large claw. He was using his true form to strike; it seemed he was truly enraged.
The white ball flew helplessly toward the toilet pit, thinking it was about to be stunk to death, but Dante struck again, swatting it in the opposite direction toward the ceiling.
Bang!
It tumbled to the ground, its features completely distorted and deformed.
"You can't do this to me, waaah..." The white ball cried piteously. "You can modify your body, but I have to stay ugly for a whole year, and it hurts..."
"Then hurry up and help me modify it!" Dante roared, his dragon whiskers sprouting out—a picture of fierce malice.
"But after the modification, all your previous cultivation will be gone," the white ball muttered to itself while opening the screen. "Then again, you haven't actually cultivated any skills yet."
The system first displayed several Chinese celebrities with very handsome faces. Dante couldn't read the Chinese characters, but he could understand the numbers: 178cm, 180cm, and 185cm.
"Which one should I pick?"
"Stop! Chinese idols—don't pick them, the height stats are inflated!" The bruised and swollen white ball quickly floated up from the floor, shielding the screen to block Dante’s movements. He didn't want to be brutally beaten again.
The white ball swiped the screen to bring up a new batch of people. This time they were all football players: Mbappé, Declan Rice, David Silva, and Wilson Odobert. Dante thought Rice had a nice smile and chose his body.
In the blink of an eye, he transformed to a height of 180cm. The white lab coat no longer exposed him; it now reached exactly to his knees.
As for the white ball with the twisted, lopsided face, Dante grabbed it and squeezed forcefully, instantly popping it back into its original shape.
"Aaah!" the white ball shrieked and fainted.
Dante stuffed the soft, round little cutie directly into his pocket and walked grandly out of the restroom.
When the people waiting outside saw Dante’s new height, they were initially shocked. However, they likely remembered his strange invisibility skill; to someone who could vanish, changing height probably didn't seem that bizarre anymore.
Dante approached the group and found they had already devised an attack plan. Dante would use the Invisibility Spell, and the Professor would lead the invisible Aeolus members into the alien officers' quarters. Once the assassinations were successful, the special forces would be responsible for killing the alien lackeys outside to prevent them from triggering the alarm.
The first alien officer was the "Earthworm."
Possessing earthworm genes, every fragment of its body could instantly turn into a new earthworm. The best method for hunting it was a flamethrower. Although Dante held a flamethrower in his hand, he was secretly thinking about the Loong’s fire-breathing skill. How could he trigger that?
I shouldn't have knocked out the little round face just now. My mistake!
The Professor used the excuse of reporting important information to get the guards to open the door. Soon, in the gym area, they saw the "Earthworm" wearing a spacesuit. Without the Professor’s revelation, no one would have guessed that this figure with a head, face, and the ability to speak and smile was actually a worm hidden under a suit.
As the Professor pulled out a document and pretended to report, a silenced bullet was fired, deliberately shattering the spacesuit while carefully avoiding the Earthworm's body. The flamethrower followed up immediately. Flames engulfed the struggling, exposed worm on the floor from all sides, making it sizzle and smoke.
The white ball suddenly popped out of Dante's pocket and whispered in his ear, "There are good things in this room, follow me."
Inside the room were alien officer training uniforms, night-luminescent pearls, soft armor, shields, pistols, and other equipment, as well as an ancient codex written in strange characters. The book was as thick as a legal code, with long strings of explanatory small text following one or two large characters. Dante instinctively felt this was a "Codex."
Dante simply held these items in his hand and thought, These are mine, and everything instantly vanished from his hand.
The white ball looked bewildered. "How did you do that?"
"I don't know," Dante replied, feigning innocence.
By the time Dante emerged from the room, the Invisibility Spell had expired. Seeing him changed into an alien military uniform and a pair of camo training shoes, no one felt surprised anymore. The group walked out and saw that the small-time lackeys had been completely wiped out by the special forces. They hugged each other and whispered congratulations.
Dante let them hug him. But he truly couldn't fathom why humans felt the need to hug whenever they were happy.
The second assassination target was "Giant Rock," a creature of unknown carbon-based or silicon-based biology. Its favorite activity was a "fire bath"—for instance, it would jump into a lava river to bathe. It loved high temperatures and was immune to physical strikes. What was it afraid of? The Professor guessed its only fear might be having its brain crushed.
Furthermore, through long-term observation, the Professor found that Giant Rock moved extremely slowly; it couldn't be killed, but it wasn't a major threat to humans either. Currently, it was taking a nap, so they could easily tie it to the bed.
Since the special forces wanted to earn some credit, they took the lead this time. Besides guns, the eight soldiers brought iron hammers. The Professor brought a sedative cocktail for Giant Rock. Because Giant Rock had an extremely violent temper, the guards didn't dare disturb him during his nap and let the Professor enter alone.
The Professor chatted with the guards for a while and gave each of them a small bottle of the sedative cocktail. While they were talking, Dante and the special forces—in their invisible state—walked to Giant Rock's bedside and tied him directly to the bed with iron chains. Immediately after, several hammers followed, ting-ting-ting, striking away.
"Who is seeking death?" the awakened Giant Rock roared.
With a forceful stand, he hoisted the entire bed onto his back. The special forces members who had been leaning over the bed hammering fell to the ground, staring at the stone monster in embarrassment and terror. Fortunately, Giant Rock couldn't see them.
Unable to see anyone around him while carrying the bed, Giant Rock suddenly emitted a low "Khoomei" (throat singing) sound from his throat. This sound seemed to possess heart-control properties, causing the hammer-wielding soldiers to charge toward Dante.
"Not good!" the white ball shouted, flashing a screen in front of Dante with a transformation incantation on it.
Dante pushed it away. "I was born with this!"
Dante let out a Dragon Roar. Without even transforming into his Loong body, he leaped over, sat directly on Giant Rock’s shoulders, and pulled the stone head right off.
The headless Giant Rock was stunned. He wanted to speak, but without a throat, he couldn't; his mouth just moved soundlessly.
"How interesting..."
Dante stuffed a towel into Giant Rock's mouth. At the thought of This is also mine, Giant Rock's head instantly vanished from his hand.
Giant Rock’s room had nothing but an ordinary pulse rifle—no special equipment, no crystal balls or books, not even a nice belt. Even the white ball grumbled in Dante’s ear: "What a cheapskate!"
The group walked out the door and saw that the lackeys at the entrance had also been wiped out by the Aeolus Suicide Squad.
The next one was the most powerful: the "Witch."
The Professor introduced her characteristics: she always wore a black hooded robe. The Professor had quietly scanned her with electromagnetic waves but failed to detect a physical entity. Therefore, she was very likely just a black hooded robe itself. If they weren't confident in defeating her, the Professor suggested they just rush for the exit, defeat the Guard Captain, and escape.
Everyone nodded in agreement. With the Giant Rock monster earlier, they would have been wiped out if Dante hadn't been there. How were they supposed to fight a Witch with no physical body? Their hearts were filled with uncertainty.
As everyone looked toward Dante, he also nodded.
"Let's go. If we can't afford to provoke her, can't we at least hide from her?"
